Benefits?

OK, what sort of benefits can you expect from being a Movie Star? I do feel that it is the most envied, most respected, most sought after life-style there is on this planet....

Exciting career:

Have you any idea what it is like to go to your local pub with your mates saying: "I repaired three washing machines today" and another saying: "I've been stacking baked beans all day", then you say: "I was on a film set with Alan Rickman today", or: "been acting on 'Eastenders' today, appearing on 'Casualty' tomorrow". Think about that.

Travel:

In the last few months I have been to Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Italy, and got paid extremely well for it. Where have you been and how much did it cost you to go?

And on the subject of money:

I know of one guy who earned £300,000 last year through commercials, and those opportunities are open to anyone. He is not a big name, it's just his face fits the bill. What would happen if yours did? I am embarrassed to think what I will earn this year....and I've only been at it a couple of years. Anyone got a good accountant?

Being your own boss:

This is the bit I like best....I want time with my son....I want time to do the country things I love....and then I love making music. You can pick and choose the days you want to work. I have friends who only want to work on film or TV a couple of times a month, because the rest of the time they work as musicians, but they just love the atmosphere on set. Yep, this kind of lifestyle suits me...I'm creative...so I like the hours that allow me to pursue my creative talents.

Oh, did I tell you that my passion, in life, is building flint walls? Just like Sir Winston Churchill, I could build walls all day long.

Exposure:

If you are a gigging musician or a budding songwriter, an artist. a painter, you can never get enough exposure. If you are artistically minded, this is a perfect vehicle to give you just that. A buddy of mine played a busker on Eastenders once. Good exposure or what? And you get paid for it!

Pitfalls?:

Err, em, you tell me. I love it.

If you don't buy another book this year, this is one you really should own, delivered to your PC.
