Jim Rohn Dead [we have lost a legend]

Jim Rohn Passes on and I want to say goodbye to a personal business legend.

I was one of the lucky ones to have known Jim personally … he influenced my life more than any other person. His speaking style was unique, his softness was unique and his homespun, deeply warm philosophy was unique. He changed many lives.

Jim Rohn, 79, who touched millions of lives over the past 46 years through his seminars, books, articles and CDs. He was an inspiration to many Baby Boomers and to all ages of those who looked for passion and inspiration.

Over the past 18 months, John made his battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Unfortunately, it was not one that he was able to win.
Jim Rohn Dead…America’s foremost business philosopher. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and all of us who followed him through the years. For the full story, go to http://www.JimRohn.com

For those who did not know the name …. Get to know it. Reckoned to have been the highest paid speaker in history. $4Mill talking to Mobil executives for three days? Get his books, get his CD’s and courses … they will change YOUR life!

What an article? [ I amazed myself last night ]

I was asked to do a presentation speech to a bunch of Networking folk last night. Mostly BNI and Chamber of Commerce people.

I choose to do it in an unusual way – just to practice my ‘Speaking off the Cuff’ skills … I chose five of the articles at http://www.makehits.co.uk/artintro.co.uk.

1) “Rule #1”
2) “So you Want To Be A Session Guitar Player”
3) “How to Make The Most of Music Networking events”
4) “How to Have the Professional Standard in your Home Studio”
5) “The Best Way to get a Band Up and Running”

I then gave the titles to the organiser and simply asked him to choose one as he introduced me.

Guess which one this networking group chose? You got it!

1) “How to Make The Most of Music Networking events” at http://www.makehits.co.uk/art023.htm

I had forgotten what this was all about … how good the advice is … and so important in our business … of course the ideas and techniques shocked the audience, I am always controversial … but my Goodness, did they agree that I was right - although they hated the thought of putting the ideas into action.

Go over to http://www.makehits.co.uk/art023.htm ... or Google ‘How To Make Money In Music’ and see that the article page is so high in the ratings.

A few thought for the deep minded? [ you will like this if you are deep minded ]

I am not fond of deep ‘positive thinking’ and hugging trees and such but I respect those who are interested.

I had a good email sent to me … just read this …. A lot to do with ‘The Secret’ …

“Undoubtedly, Dr. Robert Anthony, author of 15 best-selling books, including the Beyond Positive Thinking, is the undisputed master of teaching people to manifest their desires and turn them into reality.

He offers these words of advice to give you complete and total control over your brain and mind in accomplishing whatever you want to accomplish.

(Note: To access Dr. Anthony's complete audio interview for free, see end of article)

The most important thing, he says, is to realize that you've caused whatever outcome you currently have in your life. Are you still struggling to make a living online? The fact is that, consciously or unconsciously, you are causing your lack of success.

You are not a victim of circumstances. Simply by becoming aware of the tremendous effect of your thoughts and emotions you can become a creator of your circumstances and have whatever you want in your life. In fact, you can virtually guarantee a successful outcome.

One universal law and principle that Dr. Anthony reveals is:
"You attract what you focus on." In other words, what you focus on expands. So it follows, if you don't have the life or Internet marketing success that you want, it's due to focusing on the wrong things.

According to Quantum Physics, focusing actually causes changes in energy fields that automatically produce a physical change in your surroundings.

Instead of focusing on the problem, you need to focus on the solution-the outcome that you desire. Unfortunately 95% percent of people focus on what they fear, instead of what they want out of life.

It's kind of like driving down the road and seeing a pothole. If you focus intently on staring at the pothole, intending to miss it, what happens? Of course! You run smack dab into it.

It's the same with life and business. When you focus on your fears, you make them reality.

Do you worry about spending money educating yourself in marketing? Are you afraid that you may be throwing away money that you may never see again? Are you operating in a spirit of fear?

As Sir Winston Churchill is so often quoted, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." This statement hits the nail on the head. It literally is 100 percent true.

Focus instead on realizing that you must have the proper tools and education to succeed.

Testimonials

“When I enrolled for the S.W.G course Uncle Dec, it was to last for 10 months...but sincerely, for those who are really serious about their music and will want to take charge of their future, you should make it a 4 years course if possible.

In one sentence, 'The Serious Writers Guild is BIG'. It's years of experience squeezed in, compressed into 20 books which in my opinion is still not enough to convey the amount of experience written in them.

Thank you for being a teacher, friend and mentor Uncle Dec...I appreciate you.

Subscriber's Section [What strategy, what Dec method, would you devise? ]

“Hi Dec

So if you were to sit and think of a strategy what would you do next. Our profile is one that meets the demands of a Line dance market as a top UK act. Again to anyone unfamiliar to this genre it can sound small potatoes but it's big bucks, one of the best kept secrets.

We also perform tracks like Push The Button (Sugababes) and Black Horse (K T Tunstall) which to people who don't know are killers at a Line dance event. Tracks like The Words I Love You by Chris DeBurgh are massive. But we also play modern Keith Urban type tracks, in fact if they're dancing to it....we play it but we keep a foot in the 'bang up to date country camp' so as not to alienate a big sector of the market.

So sit down with a cup of tea, I'll even owe you the tea-bag, imagine for a bit you were starting over and my situation was yours. What strategy, what Dec method, would you devise for pushing on from here. That's what you could call a nightmare, money within reach but arms too short.

Best wishes always

<<<<<<<<So sit down with a cup of tea, I'll even owe you the tea-bag, imagine for a bit you were starting over and my situation was yours. What strategy what Dec method would you devise for pushing on from here. That's what you could call a nightmare, money within reach but arms too short.>>>>>>

You answer the question yourself....

Push on from here. I feel you are in the dreadful dilemma of accepting the 'easy option' .... staying in the comfort zone. You can very easily reach the top ... but the top is not very high.

Surprisingly I do know the line dance circuit ... and as a friend once said: about as exciting as 'Avon calling'.

We had exactly the same situation with my band ...huge in Ireland, Big fish in small stream .... but when we came to England and were up against the big boys we had to rethink our strategy very quickly ... or starve and admit defeat.

What did we do? Looked to The States .... thought image, image, image .... would spend three weeks looking for the right cuff links ... sounds crazy? Not a bit. It's exactly the same now. In your position I would be pushing the limits like mad ... costumes to die for ... check out the link I gave you ... check the videos.

Hair styles by Toni and Guy, tan shop twice a week, gym and pounding the streets ... Hip Hop clothes from the best design house embellished by young University/College students with good Music Industry flare. Such that the audience go: "Wow, where did they get those outfits...I've always wanted to look like that" .... mind you, that wouldn't work at a WMC but it certainly works when you get the shot on local news TV ... or better still the Lottery Show or Jonathan Ross [only one chance to make a first impression] ... always remember that a TV producer could creep in to the back of ANY show that you do. So are you striving to please the anoraks or the TV producer? I know which one I would concentrate on.

I would be looking at the latest lighting, hazers, special effects .... of course, you will get knocked by fellow artists ["if a song needs smoke it's sh*te"]. But they ain't going nowhere, as they say.

Take risks.... do the current Number One accapella ... takes bottle ... but it works! Do 'Ave Maria' country style ... be outrageous ... push the limits.

You mentioned a black female drummer..... why not? Better to surround yourself on stage with performers and not musicians.

Start by concentrating on the promo pictures ... if you were female ask the question: "would I go to bed with him?" Think 'fun'...think 'entertainment' ... that boring old 'serious' look went out with the Dodo's..... think Scissor Sisters, Black Eyed Peas.

Regards

The gags: ..... [very funny … sorry to the Blondes ]

Blonde, a brunette, and a redhead all work at the same office for a female
boss who always goes home early.

"Hey, girls," says the brunette, "let's go home early tomorrow. She'll never
know."

So the next day, they all leave right after the boss does. The brunette gets
some extra gardening done, the redhead goes to a bar, and the blonde goes
home to find her husband having sex with the female boss! She quietly sneaks
out of the house and returns at her normal time.

"That was fun," says the brunette. "We should do it again sometime."

"No way,"
says the blonde. "I almost got caught."
